Join us for Love the Everglades Movement Summer Symposium 2016 - GIVING BACK TO THE EVERGLADES August 6-7, and Aug.14 - the Everglades needs your support! The focus will be Everglades ecology, spirituality, activist reports on environmental crises, theology, art, and activism. It will feature guest speakers, physical and digital art displays, workshops, live entertainment, and more. One of the guest speakers is Laura Reynolds of Conservation Concepts, LLC / Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, giving a presenation and speaking about 'Turkey Point Solutions: A Win-Win for Dade County & Biscayne Bay'.
Environmental Clean-up: Day 3
'Turkey Point Solutions: A win-win for Dade County and Biscayne Bay'
For over 30 years, FPL has run an industrial power complex at its Turkey Point Nuclear Plant site. FPL's flawed cooling canal system is now polluting groundwater and surface water in Biscayne Bay and beyond.
There has been inconsistent pressure on FPL and regulators to ensure a long-term solution to this unacceptable environmental situation that effectively protects the unique biodiversity and natural resources in Florida.
With your help we will build a case through the additional collection of data to gain a better understanding of the ongoing environmental damage in order to make FPL and regulators accountable.

Series: Floating Tile Art
Title: The World's Largest Art-Official Gator
Series: Floating Tile Art
This is the renowned "money shot" during Art Basel Miami Beach 2013 of the famous art piece Gator in the Bay floating in Miami's Biscayne Bay; rated as the top art attraction that year, made by internationally recognized artist Lloyd Goradesky. The World's Largest Alligator uses a hydrolic, self-propelled barge along with Goradesky's 104 Floating Art Tiles, which comprise the body of the gator and are connected by steel cables. This massive public art installation is the size of a football field, the Floating Art Tiles are huge photocollages made up of 1000's of tiny, thumbnail-size images of Goradesky's famed wildlife photography taken over 20+ years of his photography career.
