The Pictorial Universe of Pierre-Paul Marchini
![]() |
Pierre-Paul Marchini, ‘Fonds Marins’ (Seabed), 90″ x 70″ |
![]() |
Artist Pierre-Paul Marchini |
The artist lives and works in Ajaccio, the capital city on the French island of Corsica located in the Mediterranean Sea. Due to Corsica’s historical ties with the Italian peninsula, the island retains many Italian cultural elements. The unique light that shines on the island offers him an extraordinary palette of colors. Marchini has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Pierre-Paul Marchini, ‘Lumière du Soir’ (Evening Light), 80″ x 60″ |
As a leader in the field, artist Pierre-Paul Marchini is affiliated with numerous professional organizations. A member of the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome, his work has been featured in shows around the world, including at the New York Art Expo in 2015. A self taught artist, Marchini has completed coursework in secondary education, and he is a veteran of the French Navy. Marchini is recognized as an Academic Master. “These are the landscapes that do not necessarily exist, scraps of memories that have been recorded and then recreated. On the other hand, it is never a work accomplished from photographs or precise models. I mainly paint from feeling,” explained the artist.
![]() |
Pierre-Paul Marchini, ‘Orage’ (Thunderstorm), 90″ x 70″ |
Marchini’s application with a palette knife allows him to build and structure larger surface areas. The artist’s emotion and focus on inner energy, and sometimes contemplation, create expressive, lyrical and thoughtful qualities in his paintings. Throughout his career, Pierre-Paul Marchini has been recognized for his contributions to the art world. His pieces evoke natural beauty, contrasts and extremes, and his use of color is regarded as bold and striking. Evoking historical and contemporary issues, his work is noted for leaving the impression of movement and action.

Pierre-Paul Marchini, ‘La Folle Symponie’ (The Crazy Symphony), 80″ x 60″ |
The core aspect of Marchini’s work is the vivid light and illumination that radiate from the canvas, he has a skillful way of capturing the luster and brilliance of light within his work. “Oil paint is my favorite material,” said Marchini. “It is a substance which makes it possible to best express what one feels. Especially since we can try certain tests before obtaining the desired result, an impossible exercise with acrylic in particular, which dries too quickly,” confides the artist.

Brandon Aday discussing his work on exhibit at Pridelines Gallery during Miami Art Week |
Miami artist Brandon Aday works with acrylics & oils on canvas and paper, he is best known for his eye-catching, large-scale abstract paintings. Brandon has had a lifelong love of art, inspired from an early age by his Mother who is also an artist. He is originally from the South Jersey/Philadelphia area, and attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia. In addition to his paintings, the artist creates his own line of art merchandise, which includes home decor, apparel and accessories.
"I get inspired by urban scenery, concrete structures, cracked sidewalks, or graffiti filled walls. If I see a stain or peeled paint on a weathered surface, I need to take a picture of it for later use. I have hundreds of these inspirational photos on my phone from random places. I like to look at them to absorb them into my subconscious, to come out in unexpected ways on the canvas," explained Aday.

Experience ‘U Owe Me 5’ Doma Solo Exhibition at Fabien Castanier Gallery in their Little River space. The exhibition is on view through April 13, 2019.
Doma, an artist collective currently run by Orilo Blandini and Julián Manzelli, started back in 1998 in Buenos Aires and is recognized as one of the pioneers of the Argentine “Street Art” movement. Their production is characterized by a critical and biting view on reality’s absurdity. With the use of humor, their concepts focus on where contradiction and paradox reside. George Daniell was an accomplished photographer and portraitist. He received degrees in Photography and Painting from Yale University. Growing up in Yonkers, New York, he began photographing local life. During the Great Depression, he photographed fishermen in areas off of the Hudson River and on Grand Manan Island. After college he began doing freelance work for Life, Time, and Esquire magazines. In the 1950s he traveled to Italy and worked on the sets of Cinecetti Studios. He saw both poles of life in Italy at that period; sometimes he was busy photographing glamorous movie stars like Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren, while at others he was exploring the post-war damage Italy had experienced.

South Florida Artist Skip Hartzell Creates Fine Artwork of Man’s Best Friend
Contemporary artist Skip Hartzell is known as “the dog artist”, but Skip’s dogs are anything but ordinary. His inspiration comes in the form of a morning walk, accompanied by a furry friend. The artwork he creates of man’s best friend are figments of his artistic imagination and creative vision.
Skip creates large paintings and works on paper that capture the essence of “dog”. It is about form, movement, color and texture. The dogs are a recognizable common denominator that allows me to communicate my joy of living, passions and sentiments,” said Hartzell.
The artist has exhibited at major art fairs and has held solo shows at art galleries such as ArtHouse 429 in West Palm Beach and Paul Fisher Gallery in Palm Beach. Miami's Favorite Fair Hops the Bay and Lands on the Sands of South Beach
Emerging contemporary art fair, Superfine!, returns to Miami Art Week from December 5-9, 2018 and moves to the Art Deco Welcome Center. Now on its fourth Miami show and seventh overall edition, Superfine! has proven itself to be the art fair that breaks down barriers. Seamlessly integrating independent artists and galleries under one roof, the fair also opens doors for those who’ve never collected art and want to.
Superfine! Miami Beach will take place from December 5 to 9 within the Art Deco Welcome Center located at 10th street and Ocean Drive. 38 solo artist booths and 11 galleries make up this year’s presentation, and visitors are encouraged to interact with and purchase the art – 75 percent of which is priced affordably from $300 to $5,000. A new collector’s paradise, Superfine! also encourages art lovers to use new tools like Art Money to purchase works with zero interest loans and manageable monthly payments.
Letter from fair Director Alex Mitow:
“It was important to us not to return to Miami Art Week unless we could provide real value for the emerging artists and galleries who make up our exhibitor base, as well as easy access for both local collectors and those visiting from around the globe. With a location on the sand in Miami Beach adjacent to SCOPE and Untitled and a 5 minute Uber or CitiBike from the main Art Basel fair, I can confidently say that we can.
Art should be about experiencing wonder and discovery, being enlightened and excited. Too many fairs and galleries get wrapped up in art world politics and forget their prime duty: to connect the work of talented artists with people who love and appreciate it. That’s the mindset we are seeking (and succeeding) to correct.”
“We have been – and always will be – the boutique fair to big box fairs like Art Miami and Art Basel. Even as we expand to give our exhibitors room to spread out, we maintain a cap of 40-80 exhibitors and carefully curate each fair as a unique exhibition. So there’s a lot to see, but the visitor can still digest it, and know the work is quality because we pay more attention to that than many of the bigger guys on the block are able to do. Superfine! Miami Beach will heavily leverage the performing arts – both from Miami and around the globe – to create a highly immersive environment that’s a respite from typical art fair fare.
Being on the Beach, this year’s Superfine! will also take an environmental turn with installation art centered around the plastics that continue to pose a problem in our world’s oceans and panel discussions at the intersection of science and art. I quite honestly cannot wait to see how our artists and galleries tackle the urgent issues facing us, and moreover continue to engage collectors at every level with incredible emerging contemporary art.”
About Superfine!
Superfine! – The Fair was created by an artist, James Miille, and an arts entrepreneur, Alex Mitow, in 2015. The two, partners in life as well as business, started the fair as a reaction to what they saw in the current art market — inflated prices, sluggish sales, and a widening valley between a constantly growing art-appreciating public and an insular art world positioned outside of their price range and comfort zone. Superfine! is an alternative to typical art fairs – a transparent, approachable environment for buying and selling art that maintains the highest curatorial standards in the industry while simultaneously opening up the market to new collectors and emerging gallery programs and artists.
