Public speaker and author of the best-selling novel, ‘Walk Beside Me’, model Christine Handy is empowering audiences this October at a string of events during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Handy is sharing her awe-inspiring story about illness, recovery, inner-beauty and the strength of the human spirit, bringing attention to Breast Cancer Awareness and raising support for cancer organizations.

As National Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins, survivor, best-selling author, model and motivational speaker Christine Handy is traveling across South Florida, Dallas and other parts of the country participating in events to raise awareness and support for Breast Cancer through sharing her experiences with cancer, illness, the power of friendship, prayer, and hope. Handy authored the novel Walk Beside Me, a fictional depiction of her illness and her long road to recovery. The book was released on May 1, 2016, and immediately became a national best-seller launching Christine into a new career as a public speaker and successful author. “A heart-felt story that makes you believe in miracles,” said Michael Levin, New York Times Best Selling Author, of Christine’s book Walk Beside Me.

This October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Christine will be speaking at Cos Bar in Dallas, Texas on October 10th for ‘A Journey of Hope’, where guests will enjoy an intimate discussion and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the Cattle Baron's Ball in Dallas benefiting the AmericanCancer Society. Then in Coral Gables, Florida on October 18th at the Filomena Fernandez Boutique, another very special Breast Cancer Awareness event will be taking place, as well as 'Empowering Women' on Tuesday, October 30th at the Michelle Farmer Boutique in Palm Beach, Florida. The Palm Beach event will feature Christine Handy, along with two other guest speakers, Michelle Stallone, RT (R) (M) a Patient Care Coordinator, and Margarita Kahn, Survivor and Owner of MRK Intimates, Co-Owner of Ellipse Lingerie.

"We all have the power to co-create the lives that we actually want," said Handy, whose book ‘Walk Beside Me’ is a tale of sickness and triumph, of being comfortable in your own skin, of valuing the things that have true value, and of learning to fight for yourself and what you truly want. It’s the story of a woman who peels away the layers to find her inner warrior, a woman who faces insurmountable odds and—thanks to her earthly Angelslearns to treasure the gift of God’s infinite light and love. Christine says, “It took nearly dying to realize how much I want to live.”

With a passion to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness, Christine Handy participates in countless events telling her story and discussing her book, ‘Walk Beside Me’, and is always available for book-signings.

“The events are all about getting major companies to support breast cancer,” explained Christine — who sits on the board of E-Beauty, a non-profit based in Miami, Florida that redistributes wigs. She has helped them send out over 20,000 wigs to date and recently John Paul Mitchell has just come on board to wash all the wigs donated to her charity. They are doing collaborations and talks at various venues to generate awareness and raising money for E-Beauty. Hopefully with the press generated through these events, they will get more companies involved in the fight against breast cancer, as Christine wants it to be a win for all. "We truly are who we surround ourselves with and because of that we must choose wisely our friends and companions. My motto is that there is purpose in pain, but it’s a choice to use it to help others. My book is now in its second publishing and I have another novel on the way," said Christine.

Christine Handy resides in Miami, Florida. She is an avid writer, her sequel to Walk Beside Me is on the way and very different than the first, it’s the “after-illness life”, very dramatic and “full of life”, a real page turner. Christine speaks Nationally about her books and on empowering women and other topics such as bullying and how to be unstoppable.
